A bright first edition/second printing in Fine condition in about Fine dust-jacket, light shelf wear and toning to spine. From the collection of Betty Anderson, legendary art director of publisher Knopf in the late 20th century as evidenced by her (small and unobtrusive) inventory number and signature on front paste down; Anne Tyler's debut novel is a heart-wrenching story of family and love. After her brother's death, twelve-year-old Sarah begins a search for him, traveling to all the places he told her about. Along the way she uncovers truths about her family that she never knew. This beautifully written story will have you rooting for Sarah to find her brother and the closure she needs.; 8vo; FSA.

Taschenbuch. Kartoniert. Condition: Gut. Taschenbucherstausgabe. 287 (1) Seiten. 18 cm. Umschlaggestaltung: Rambow, Lienemeyer, van de Sand. Befriedigender Zustand. Seiten papierbedingt leicht gebräunt. Buchblock etwas verzogen. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Chatto & Windus, London, 1976. First UK edition(NAP). Printed in the United States. Anne Tyler's sixth novel. 309 pages. Very Good/ Good-. The book itself is in very good condition. The covers are clean. The book is solidly bound. Here are the books imperfections: there are several small dents on one of the bottom edges of the front cover, which can be seen from the front. There's a small pen jag line on the top paper edge(NOT to be confused with a remainder mark, it is just a random, accidental, pen mark 1 inch long). There's a very light crease on the title page, and a tiny red mark on the half-title page. Lastly, there's a light stain on the middle page edge which is just visible on the margin edge of a number of the pages. The Unclipped dust jacket is rated only Good minus. As you can see from the photos it's had some bad days. There are several tears and there is loss at the top of the spine and at the bottom of the back. Furthermore, there is noticeable soiling on the front and on the back cover. See the photos. The dust jacket will be fitted with a protective cover. I'm putting this book out for Anne Tyler collectors. This UK edition is quite rare. I found three others, one a library book, a second in rough shape for $70, and a third in NF/NF condition for over $150.00. Here's another option.
