Pour ressusciter ce monde à jamais perdu, Bacri a choisi d'écrire une autobiographie singulière: on sait, en effet, que la monarchie de Juillet entreprit la 'Conquête…' à la suite de l'offense faite par le Dey d'Alger à son ambassadeur. Mais on oublie souvent que cet ambassadeur venait réclamer au Dey le remboursement d'une dette que celui-ci avait contractée auprès d'un riche commerçant de l'époque appelé. Bacri. C'est si vrai que c'est au nom de 'la Bacriade' - document officiel et connu des archivistes - que les Français colonisèrent l'Algérie. On voit donc l'usage que Roland Bacri peut faire d'une telle homonymie: c'est à cause de lui et de ses ancêtres que 'tout a commencé.'. Pour raconter cette histoire, le petit poète du {Canard enchaîné} utilise une langue unique, quasi célinienne, désopilante, qu'on appellera bientôt le bacrisme.
