The author accounts for geometrical aspects alongside the history of experiments of this assembly. The robot used was a 7565 I.B.M. model with a built-in CCD camera on its robotic arm. The novel experiments proved it was possible to assemble parts with intricate contours when force feedback is utilized during assembly. The book includes a videotape of the demonstration and is affiliated with the Department of Applied Science at New York University.
