Condition: Fair. 1791. New Edition. 363 pages. No dust jacket. Brown leather boards with gilt. Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout, heavier at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Ex Libris plate of 'Lady Hunleke' to front pastedown. Minor pencil marking to front free end-paper. Binding remains firm with visible thread in places. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Loss to leather on all sides. Spine gilt and decoration is worn. Top edge of text block is dust marked.

Printed for T Hurst, Paternoster Row, London by J Stafford, Bingham (Nottinghamshire), 1804. *Power's checklist gives no Bingham publications. This is a later edition of the first book printed by John Stafford in Bingham done in 1803. This is a scarce edition, apparently not listed in the British Library Catalogue.

Front boards are detached but present. Full leather, with leather labels on spines. Title label missing on volume 2. Light Macalester College library stamp on inside of front board. With embossed slub for the (Edward D.) Neill room, library bequest. Neill was associate secretary to President Lincoln, and served as chaplain to the Minnesota Regiment in the Civil War. He also served as president of the college.
