Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. QUIMPER POTTERY: A FRENCH FOLK ART FAIENCE BY SANDRA V. BONDHUS 1981 HC DJ. Quoting from the flap of the dust jacket about the book: "provides a comprehensive study of the famous peasant pottery of Brittany. A complete historical treatise in addition to chapters devoted to fabrication-patterns-marks and artists is included. Full color plates document the constantly evolving folk art patterns and forms. The appendix consisting of the late 19th century through mid-20th century factory catalogs provides the collector or antiques dealer with thousands of pictorial examples for study and comparison." I am very pleased to offer: "Quimper Pottery: A French Folk Art Faience" by Sandra V. Bondhus and photographed by Mitchell Z. Bistany and edited by Bernard M. Wolpert. This large hard cover book (9 x 11 ¼ inches 244 pages) was apparently self-published by the Author dated 1981 and I believe it is the First Edition (perhaps only edition). This book is inscribed by the Author to the former owners. The book is bound in dark blue cloth with gilt titles on cover and spine and protected by a battered pictorial dust jacket. The Errata Sheet is laid-in. The book is very well illustrated in both b&w and color as per the excerpt from the flap of the dust jacket. Condition: This book is in very good condition. If you saw the dust jacket however you would wonder a bit; it is very battered-torn and chipped although still mostly whole. The hard covers are a bit dust-dulled and lightly bumped on corners and spine tips. Therein ends the bad news; the interior is very nice and clean and presentable- essentially unmarked and unblemished from cover to cover (please see the photos). Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. Inscribed by Author.
