With ten pages of "Opinions of the Press," it tells us how the book was publicized. The last, unnumbered, four pages bear facsimile signatures of eminent subscribers: Henry W. Longfellow, Millard Fillmore, etc., and many college presidents (Princeton, Harvard, Union, etc.). Laid in is a contemporary two-page longhand note on pronunciation. Lightly foxed throughout; one signature starting; pencil signatures on ffep. Spine sunned, otherwise VG, in publisher's ribbed cloth, stamped in gilt and blind.
