Pages a little browned with a trace of a price in pencil to the first page but otherwise unmarked. First printing of the Penguin edition. Originally published in 1927 by Collins under the name A.B. Cox. All editions of this book are very rare.

Spine darkened, 2" tear up the lower front spine fold with the remnants of brown tape across. Hinges cracked, rear breaking, binding loose, page 335 detached and laid in. Jacket blurb glued to the front end paper. Still, a very scarce first edition. Ex-Library.
