Dopo un lungo percorso in giro per il mondo, la tela è tornata tra le colline fiorentine, nel museo intitolato al grande pittore. La seconda storia ruota attorno a una figura sconosciuta al grande pubblico, quella di Palmiro Meacci. Uomo di umili origini, incontrò Annigoni nel 1969 e divenne suo segretario. Fu così proiettato sulla scena internazionale, e condivise col maestro vent'anni di esperienze uniche ed eccezionali. Nel volume trova spazio, accanto a testi critici e agli approfondimenti sulle vite dei protagonisti, una galleria di dipinti di Annigoni e preziose testimonianze fotografiche.
