Volume 1: Oeuvres; Volume II: Contes, Psyche, Lettres. Quarter leather. Marbled boards, leathered spine. The spines have four ridges with stamped gilt titling and decoration (just a little worn). However, the spines are deliciously burnished and rubbed by handling. The boards have shelving wear, scuffing and handling marks. They are steady and sure. The contents of both books are pleasingly fresh-faced. They have very light splodges of foxing here and there.
