C'est un portrait guère flatté, mais passionnant que Philémon Deroisin (1825-1910), futur maire républicain de Versailles de 1879 à 1888, brossa sur le tard de son ancien professeur : élève suivant…ses cours d'astronomie et de sociologie, il se lia plus intimement avec lui en décembre 1849 et vécut dans l'intimité du philosophe jusqu'en 1853.
