Hardcover. Condition: VG+. 1st Edition. See photos for condition details. Black cloth boards blind stamped on front and rear with gilt text on front. Exterior shows only minor handling and corner/and edge bumps. Gilt is bright and cloth is still shiny. Interior pages are toned due to age and there is some very light foxing noted. Binding good, no hinge issues. Front and rear end pages show advertisements from the publisher. Only handwriting found in book is on the backside of the first end page where somebody put their initials in the upper left corner. First edition thus with single date of 1878 appearing on the copyright page. An attractive copy.
