Hardcover. 16mo 6" - 7" tall; Contemporary boston binding with panel design in blind, 276, 68 (of 84)p. **This book is definately of the Colonial period. The latest printing in Shipton & Moody to match this pagination is S&M#44346, dated 1783, but the binding places it earlier. The closest match is #72 in the Selma L. Bishop bibliography, Ezekiel Russell, 1771, is the closest match but the lines of the title do not break the same way. Title leaf lacks the top 1.5" and the bottom inch, and it lacks pages 69-84 at rear, short tear at head of spine and moderate looseness to text-block. Sold as a binding.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Oversized hardcover. Measures about 8.5 x 10.5 inches. Recently and professionally rebound with black leather spine and black cloth over boards. Raised cords on the spine and maroon title label stamped in gold. New endpapers. An attractive binding, that wants only some patina of age on it to be quite lovely and appropriate. King James translation of the Bible. Printed in double columns. Unpaginated. New Testament has its own title page, also dated 1769. New Version of the Psalms has its own title page as well, Londong; printed by H.S. Woodfall and dated 1775. After the psalms there is a page of Directions about the Tunes and Measures. At the end there are 6 pages (3 leaves) tightly packed with genealogical information. The first 2 pages are all in one hand, with Lyman family data begins 'Sarah Colt (the wife of Peter Colt) daughter of Daniel Lyman of New Haven, son of Benjamin Lyman of Northhampton, Massachusetts." going back to 1645 and up through (the last line) to James Rice Lyman who was lost at sea on the U.S. Sloop of War Wasp in 1814. The next page has a tipped-in list of Thorp ancestors going back to New Haven in the 1630s and up through the 1780s. The next page has Sanford genealogy from 1785 through 1858 on 2 pages in several hands. The final page has a few more names from the 1890s. In addition, the binder has preserved the original endpapers and blanks from an earlier binding with the name 'Emily Sanford Hornblower' and 'George Sanford Hornblower' dated 1915.
