Before studying physical types, customs, institutions and folklore of the Nandi, the author began by mastering the language, which in its general construction resembles Masai. Mr. Hollis's study is a most valuable addition to our knowledge of the non-Bantu people of East Africa, and an important supplement to the one he has already given us in "The Masai". This work is profusely illustrated with 53 in-text figs, XLIV b/w photographic plates, and a color folding map bound at rear.
