Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Quarto. Pp.viii, 104. Bateman was an English cartoonist, often published in Punch, Tatler, and Sketch, who gently lampooned British manners. His American cartoons made fun of Prohibition: "X-ray Photo Recently Taken in America" shows a group of men in suits with outlines of liquor bottles in their poc…kets. The Dial Press was founded by Lincoln MacVeagh in 1924; this may be its first publication. Fair to good in illustrated boards, very worn at extremities, with clear plastic jacket. Pp. 79-86 have a one-inch closed tear to edge; pp. 20-21 are tanned.
