Pages are clean and intact overall except for the damaged plate or chart in back, light age toning, loosening along gutters, and occasional marks, stains, and smudges. Covers are intact overall but have significant dampstaining and fading on front and back, some fraying and wear at head and tail of spine, and slight wear to extremities. A Good copy. A mineralogy textbook intended for students at technical or scientific schools. Emphasis is on identifying minerals in rock sections under the microscope. Author Lea McIlvaine Luquer describes the additions made to this Revised Edition such as new tables and cuts. Chapter titles are as follows: "Introductory Optics for Optical Mineralogy," "Petrographical Microscope," "Investigation of Microscopic and Optical Characters of Minerals," "Microscopic and Optical Characters of Minerals," "Methods of Preparing Sections," and "Chemical and Mechanical Tests.".
