Condition: Wie neu. Artist and photographer A.T. Schaefer was born in 1944. Now based in Stuttgart, he uses the camera and color film to record objects and situations in daily life, his habitual environment and places from his travels. The products from this activity, however, are unexpected and radical. His aim is not to reproduce the situational reality of his subjects, but to set free the autonomous aesthetic potential of the photographically created picture. What emerges and impresses is not the reality of motif, but that of the photograph in itself. It accords with his origins in painting that A.T. Schaefer forms his pictures into compositions of the most vivid presence and precision, and whose "real" subject is color. In his photographs, the reality of the motif develops to become, even where it persists almost subliminally, a reality of an image which reproduces nothing but the fascination and force of color no longer bound to serve any representation and which is thus able to unfold its deepest expressive potential. Umschlag berieben, sonst aber ein gutes und sauberes Exemplar. Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 550 111 S., gebundene Ausgabe mit Schutzumschlag.
