Undated at copyright, with the dedication dated 1921; this copy published no later than 1962, as the printer (Curwen, at colophon) is housed at Plaistow, and they moved in 1963. Decorative papered boards, scuffed and rubbed, with moderate general edgewear and heavily frayed fore-edge corners. Binding sound. Pages toned, text unmarked.

Clean pages except for age toning throughout, most noticeably at endpapers; quarter cloth binding has surface wear along all edges, a slight bend at the top right front corner, handling smudges around the front title, scuffing down to the boards at free corners, and light scratching front and back, yet remains overall clean and sound.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Quarter blue cloth with colorful printed paper-covered boards, tall 8vo., 60, (1) pages. Printed at the Curwen Press. Nice period advertisement for the book tipped onto front paste-down, endpapers toned, edgewear and bruised tips, still a very good copy in archival mylar.

Hardcover. First Edition. Printed colour illustrations throughout. Decorative coloured paper covered boards and blue cloth spine are a little worn at corners and bumped at head and foot of spine. The rear top corner particularly has a 1sqcm loss of coloured paper cover, and below it is a little creasing to the rear board. Acquired from Maud Lloyd, an admired leading dancer with Ballet Rambert in the 1930s. Later she wrote, with her husband, Nigel Gosling, influential dance books and reviews under the pseudonym, 'Alexander Bland'. When Rudolph Nureyev defected in 1961, they became his surrogate parents.
