Cover illustration different and presumably earlier than usually depicted -- pictorial image is limited to bottom 1/3rd of mostly peach-colored front wrap, and features both a submarine being straddled by bombs from a twin-engine plane (whether both are British is the subject of the tale) and a blonde "barmaid" in a red dress that owes a lot more to 1962 than 1940. This paperback priced at 3'6 to the front wrapper. This mass market paperback is unread and uncreased, but shows mild shopwear to edges, and has lost some of its original gloss. Internal pages slightly but evenly age-toned; still flexible & easily read. Laid in is a postage-free reply postcard offering information about home mortgage insurance from the Co-operative Insurance Society of Manchester, almost certainly as issued.
