Five of the poems in this collection by the Jamaica-born poet, documentary film-maker, author and educator Lebert Sandy Bethune, had appeared in the 1965 issue of the influential Presence Africaine, a testament to Bethune's deep involvement in the pan-Africanism movement at the time. He is a known associate of Malcolm X, and is credited with shooting the last film and interview of Malcolm X in Paris. His documentary Malcolm X: the struggle for Freedom was released in 1967. While the work is widely held in institutions, it's scarce in the trade - signed copies even more so.
