Paperback. Condition: As New. First Edition. First Printing. A Very Fine copy in black glossy wrappers, a paperbound original. These two titles appeared previously in 1984 and 1988 respectively. Introduction by Michael Palmer. Edited by Robert Bertholf and James Maynard. Duncan insisted that the first title be printed in monotype ('typewriter typeface'). The second title was printed in proportional face. 272pp. Q13938.

First Editions. First Printings, wrappered issue. Two square quarto volumes (21.5cm); original pictorial card wrappers; [xii],[2],3-175,[5]; [vi],90pp. Inscribed by Duncan on the title page of Vol.I to noted poet, translator, and anthropologist Nathaniel Tarn (1928-2024): "For Nathaniel / Robert D. / at San Jose / 1985." Tarn's inked name and date of acquisition appear on the half-title of Vol.II. Light wear to extremities, else a uniformly Near Fine set. A nice association copy - Tarn published Duncan's work during his tenure at Jonathan Cape, and has both reviewed and written extensively on Duncan and his writing. 87744. Signed.
