Introduction by Michael Palmer. Edited by Robert Bertholf and James Maynard. Duncan insisted that the first title be printed in monotype ('typewriter typeface'). Two square quarto volumes (21.5cm); original pictorial card wrappers; [xii],[2],3-175,[5]; [vi],90pp. Inscribed by Duncan on the title page of Vol.I to noted poet, translator, and anthropologist Nathaniel Tarn (1928-2024): "For Nathaniel / Robert D. / at San Jose / 1985." Tarn's inked name and date of acquisition appear on the half-title of Vol.II. Light wear to extremities, else a uniformly Near Fine set. A nice association copy - Tarn published Duncan's work during his tenure at Jonathan Cape, and has both reviewed and written extensively on Duncan and his writing. 87744. Signed.
