"This 5.25 x 7.625 inch, 292 page hardcover book is the 1880 printing of this title as indicated by that date on the title page along with the statement "Eighth Edition." This copy is in very good condition with only a modest bit of wear to the brown cloth covers. The corners and edges of the cover show wear but they have not at all worn through. There is a bit of wear to the spine foot and crown but the biggest condition issue to mention for the covers is some spotting on the front panel along the top edge. Beyond that the black design and lettering on the front panel, and gilt decoration and lettering on the spine, are clean and prominent and the binding still secure and tight. The interior text pages show only a previous owner's oval name stamp on five of the first nine pages including the title page with the date included - - "August 15th, 1881." Beyond that the text pages show only a bit of age toning and no real sign of foxing through the text. One page - - number 16 - - has a one inch tear to the top but with those condition issues mentioned the text is in very good to near fine condition with the paper corners sharp, the illustrations clean and bright, and all in all a nice copy. 292 pages.".…
