Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition, Limited Edition. LADY GREGORY [Isabella Augusta Persse]. My First Play. London: Matthews & Marrot. 1930. Small 8vo. First edition, being one of a limited edition of 500 copies for sale each numbered and signed by the author at title page, this number… 32. Quarter light purple cloth over patterned boards, retaining the fragile dust jacket which matches the design to boards. Paper label title to front panel. A nice and bright example, the boards gently bumped to spine tips and corners, the binding tight and square, the contents with ink ownership inscription to front endpaper and some mild offsetting to endpapers. The dust jacket complete, a touch shorter than the book, slightly faded to spine with some mild rubbing and tiny nicks, one to spine centre. Lady Gregory's you-guessed-it first play, published here for the first time some thirty years after its formulation, it being 'laid aside' on account of the author's preoccupation with all things Abbey Theatre, her being a co-founder and all. Uncommon in such vibrant shape with a design typical of the publishers. Signed by Author(s).
