Hardcover. Condition: Very Good ++. No Jacket. B/W Drawimngs (illustrator). This must have been quite a brave book when it was released in 1922, given the Judeo-Christian understanding of the (PRE-television) world. (Part of a 3 book series for young readers.) Read more about : Adh, cave-man, Tor-ad the potter, crocodules, flames, and Ai-Ab. Words like Wind, Sun, Ocean, and Mother Nature are all capitalized throughout the text. 293 pages of fictionalized human history , B/W drawings accompany text - I especially like the one of a dug-out canoe on page 137. Or - hooking fruit on page 57. I think the book takes liberties with time of tool development, but it none-the less is a fun exploration. Cond : Boards are light brown with black lettering. I see cosmic and angelic things in the colour plate adhered to the front board - it matches the coloured frontis. Very square, clean, and bright. Tight in binding. No names. Very minor wear to fore corners. Decidedly collectible ! ! QUote (p. 123) : " Some of the older cave men went to the place where the fire had first started and gasthered about the hot coals, enjoying the warmth. But soon they saw that the fire was dying out, so they began to throw leaves and twigs and branches on it. and every time it blazed up they shouted with joy. When Mother Nature saw ._._._. .
