Copies the name and style of Olympia's "Traveller's Companion Series"; cover states that it's No. 215 in that series, which is ridiculous. The title page and its facing page have been altered from the original with a mismatched font, retaining "series / The Olympia Press," "S.I.P. Montreuil (Seine) July ." Alterations to the front matter aside, this book is a page-for-page photo-reproduction of Peter O'Neill's HELL IS FILLING UP, which was originally published in July 1961 as No. 6 in Olympia's Ophir Books series. The pseudonymous "Peter O'Neill" also wrote THE CORPSE WORE GREY for Olympia Press' Othello Books imprint; a hard-boiled crime thriller with an erotic element that pretty much hit the mark, though missed the time period by a few years. Original printed wrappers. Taning to pages due to age. Light shelfwear, some rubbing to edge of spine and a soft vertical crease to wrappers. Disclaimer on back cover neatly inked out. A curious item. Very good.…

Colour faded (as with all Ophir Press titles), a little rubbed and with light wear to spine ends, but a very good copy. First edition, first state, with the printed price ('NF : 15') to rear panel unaltered. No. 6 (of 8) in the Ophir Books series, an imprint of the Olympia Press run by Maurice Girodias in Paris.
