Add to basket(1970). First edition thus: one of 1950 numbered copies SIGNED by illustrator Tyler. Preface by Peter A. Tasch. Small quarto. Tiny, faint smudge to front, else fine, in russet cloth with printed spine label over illustrated boards; housed in a sturdy, illustrated paper-over-boards slipcase, which shows the residue from the removal of a spine label, but that is otherwise fine. Both sets of verse fables penned by the 18th century British poet and dramatist, beautifully printed in black with red titles, and accompanied by 66 wood-engravings done by Gillian Lewis Tyler, printed in black or red. 234 pages, plus colophon.
