Contemporary full-leather binding with red leather title and six raised bands is clean, tight, and square. The interior is clean. The text is clean and unmarked. NOT ex-library. A very nice, tight copy of this early edition.

Title page dated 1692. 8 Page Preface. Frontis to a "Life of Aesop" (28 pages) has a delightful Full-Page engraved Plate depicting Aesop surrounded by Animals. Followed by an Alphabetical Table listing the characters and Fable Nos. Main Text 480 pages containing 500 Fables. Period Brown sheep Full-Leather binding with 5 raised bands to spine. Gilt title on Black leather ground in 2nd compartment. 13" Tall. Splits to leather down sides of spine. Edge wear to cover, especially at corners. Small tears to edge of title page and antique gift inscription, dated 1831 at the top. Several more antique pen marks (see photo). No other inscriptions. Small piece nissing from bottom margin of the Aesop plate, not affecting the illustration. Pages generally in very good condition.
