Very slight rubbiing to top front corner.The red cloth boards are in superb order. The book has tight binding and appears unread. Many black and white illustrations. Internally bright and clean with no marks or inscriptions. Just a light age tone to the edge of the pages as you might expect in a book of this age. All in all an excellent example.

Illustrated by 8 plates, including portrait frontispiece. The story of a Scottish medical dynasty; eight generations of the Monro family of Auchinbowie, from John Monro (1670-1740), effective founder of the Edinburgh Medical School on a pattern he brought from Leyden Medical School. Dr. David Monro (1813-77) emigrated to New Zealand in 1842 and later flourished there as a politician. Appendices include a family chronology and lists of publications and portraits. Dr. Rex E.
