First edition, carrying his autobiography to when he left Eton. With a frontispiece and three photographs. Laid-in is a postcard of Lord Berners in bow tie, wearing a monocle and holding a lobster. Berners was a composer, novelist, and painter. He was also charming, witty, rich, greedy, homosexual, a great entertainer, and deeply shy. He was among the more colourful eccentrics of his time.

From the Library of Siegfried Sassoon and Sold by Sotheby?s in 1991. With the Sotheby?s posthumous library dispersal label on the front pastedown confirming the book came from Sassoon?s own library. Lord Berners was a British composer, novelist, painter, and aesthete. The book is in very good++ and in bright condition. Contents good. The wrapper is very good++ and bright. Light edge rubbing.
