Soybean based cropping system were followed in North-Eastern Karnataka. Among the studied soybean based cropping systems, CS-I (soybean + redgram) and CS-II (soybean + jowar) were found to be the most profitable system under rainfed condition in the study area. The farmers were to be encouraged intensively by the extension officials of the department of agriculture and other stakeholders to diversify their cropping system in place of monocropping or sole cropping of soybean to avoid unexpected economic losses due to adverse climatic condition and price fluctuation. Organise more number of capacity building programmes for soybean farmers to provide technical guidance for crop on 'business mode' which certainly helps the farmers to consolidate their economic base. 168 pp. Englisch.…
