First UK Edition (first printing), issued a year after the more common US edition. 8vo. 511pp. Purple cloth lettered and ruled in gold at the spine. Top edge dust soiled and with a touch of bruising to two corner tips. Very good indeed in the handsome Barnett Freedman-designed pictorial dust wrapper, non-price-clipped, but a little chafed and chipped at the extremities with two short closed tears and a little accompanying creasing.
