Contact seller5-star seller16 pages plus covers and color foldout map. Staple-bound booklet; H 17.8cm x L 9.9cm. Original blue stiff paper covers well creased with some moisture staining as well as scuffing and wear along edges; front and rear covers nearly detached with long tear along spine fold. Bold front cover title of CRAM'S TOWNSHIP AND RAIL ROAD M…AP OF MISSISSIPPI . . . with small vignette illustration of steam locomotive with passenger cars; all lettering and ruling in black. Antiquarian ownership inscription in pencil on front cover's blank verso; pencil marks on county list page 2. Toning and some stains to leaves with top corners creased; binding staples rusted with associated slender stains at spine margins of leaves. Page 1 title: "Index to State Map of Mississippi" followed by sections "Explanation," "Railroads," "Counties;" and extensive list of "Towns" (pages 3-16). Color foldout map tipped-in at rear cover with title as: "Railroad and County Map of Mississippi. Geo. F. Cram. Engraver and Publisher, Chicago." and specifically dated 1889 (the only date specified in the entire booklet). Map unfolds to approximately H 60.5cm x L 47.5cm with approx. image dimensions being H 56.75 x L 40.75cm (six panels horizontally and five panels vertically). Map shows swaths of west Alabama and eastern Louisiana and Arkansas with Memphis minimally shown at top and nothing south of Lake Pontchartrain (presumably omitting most of those two cities to spur other state map sales). Strong toning particularly affecting to single panel still adhered (as issued) to booklet's rear cover; other milder toning and foxing; several small losses and minor nicks but with 1cm x 1.5cm oval chip to Pickens and Greene County, Alabama adjacent to Noxubee County, Miss.; multiple tears at fold-lines with longest extending 24.5cm mostly along bottom fold line. State borders in pink with Mississippi country lines in yellow; railway lines in delineated in black with two and three letter initials (presumably indicating the appropriate railroad company) in red. A poor copy but a scarce if not rare original George Cram railroad map booklet as OCLC only cites only a single 1882 edition among all member libraries.
