Predominantly unclipped, with the exception of volumes 4 and 7.Volumes 1, 2, 4, 11 feature a monochrome frontispiece, and volumes 7, 11 and 12 feature illustrated endpapers.Includes several first editions: volumes 1, 2, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12, which is the first American edition.Volume 7 features 4 double sided monochrome plates, and a double page vignette map. Volume 10 features 8 double side plates. Volume 12 features8 double-sided, vibrantly colour plates and frequent vignette illustrations. Collated, complete.Volume 9 features 8 unlisted double-sided monochrome plates.
