The photographic plates in this book record each step of construction , from the tower foundations to the completed bridge, of the Bear Mountain-Hudson River Bridge, opened in November 1924. All cable wire used in fabricating the two main cables, and the steel wire ropes used for foot bridges and suspenders, were furnished by the John A. A handsome publication concerning the era's effort to traverse water and canyons with anchored supporting strands of cables. Some emphasis is placed on the Williamsburg Bridge. Now housed in a removable, clear archival sleeve with an acid-free backing.
