Paperback. Condition: Very Good. America is in the midst of a cultural and constitutional law crisis that began more than sixty years ago and was further exacerbated by the 2015 Supreme Court same-sex marriage decision. How did we become a culture that lacks objective morality and embraces secular ideas, hinging on the majority whim of nine justices? How do we get back to being a biblically moral, upright society and recognizing the U.S. Constitution as supreme law of the land? In The Legal Basis for a Moral Constitution, Jenna Ellis makes a compelling case for the true roots of America's Founding Documents in objective morality and how our system of government is founded upon the Christian worldview and God's unchanging law, not a secular humanist worldview. She provides a unique perspective of the Founding Fathers as lawyers and how they understood the legitimate authority of biblical truth and appealed directly to God's law for the foundation of America. Weaving together the legal history and underpinning worldview shifts in American culture, Ellis advocates how Christians must change the basic reasoning of our appeal and effectively engage our culture. Finally, she proposes the solution to reclaim objective, biblical morality in law that the Founders themselves provided for through Article V of the U.S. Constitution. This book is for every Christian who seeks to understand the times and our constitutional and cultural crisis.…

Contact seller5-star sellerHardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Included. CONSTITUTIONAL BASIS FOR JUDGING THE NEW DEAL, Erik McKinley Eriksson and Trent Hewitt Steele, hardcover, inscribed and signed by Eriksson, 1936. ITEM CONDITION: Good. The text block is in fine condition with no tears, dog ears, or marks. Pages and endpapers are age-toned. There is no bookplate or signature of a prior owner. The address label of the original bookstore is affixed inside the back cover. This is not a library item nor a remainder. The blue cloth boards are in good condition (slight bumping of spine top, slightly bowed front cover). 7 x 5 ½, 87 pages, 12 ounces XX [From the preface] From the beginning of the New Deal, the American people have been subjected to a flood of propaganda and ballyhoo unsurpassed since the World War. On one side, charges have been made that the Rooseveltian program is doing violence to the Constitution and, as a result, the American system of government is in danger. From the other side, assurances have repeatedly been given that all that has taken place and all that is being done is within the Constitution and in accord with the American tradition. To the average American citizen this is very puzzling. Is the Constitution really being violated or is it merely being used as a political football? To enable each person to formulate an answer to this question is the purpose of this book. Believing that there is a general lack of knowledge concerning the Constitution of the United States and an even greater lack of information in regard to fundamental Constitutional principles, the authors have attempted to set forth the basic features of the American constitutional system. In so doing, illustrations have been freely borrowed from the New Deal. After all, it is the New Deal which the people must judge. But for judging, information rather than emotion is very much needed. XX [From the web] Prof. Erik McKinley Eriksson of the University of Southern California is a well-known historian. Professor Eriksson is a native of Odebolt [Iowa] and is a graduate of the State University with A. B. A. M. and Ph. D. degrees. He was professor of history and head of the department at Lombard college, Galesburg, Ill. 1922-25; instructor in American history at Iowa State Teachers college, summer 1922; lecturer in American history, State University of Iowa, summer 1925; professor of American history and head of department, Coe college 1925-29; historian of Coe college, 1927-29; and has been at the University of Southern California since 1929. [He was the author of numerous books of history and political science]. Professor Eriksson was born in 1896 and died in 1941. Inscribed by Author(s).…
