Relevant newspaper cutting to the front end paper dated 1965. Slight fore edge foxing and one plate has slight creasing along the edge. Some splitting between the frontispeice plate and the title page, though the book and boards remain firmly attached and tight. The book features numerous full-page black & white photographs. This copy contains a label affixed to the front pastedown that is signed by John Barrymore: "This copy of Confessions of An Actor belongs to the library of '[illegible] H. Rattenbury' and is specially autographed by the Author 'John Barrymore.'" Per a note found within the pages, this copy also belonged to American academic Virginia Gildersleeve, long-time Dean of Barnard College.
