Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - The document provides a comprehensive examination of the Catholic Church's historical and theological stance against Freemasonry, detailing various papal documents, canon laws, and declarations.Historical Context: The document traces the Catholic Church's prohibition against Freemasonry back to Pope Clement XII's 1738 Papal Bull In Eminenti apostolatus specula, which outlined the Church's opposition to Freemasonry due to its principles being incompatible with Catholicism.Key Papal Documents: Significant papal documents reaffirming the Church's stance include Pope Benedict XIV's Providas Romanorum (1751), Pope Pius IX's Etsi Multa (1873), and Pope Leo XIII's Humanum Genus (1884), among others. These documents consistently condemned Freemasonry for its secrecy, indifferentism, and opposition to Church teachings.Freemasonry's Principles: The Church's main objections to Freemasonry are its principles of indifferentism, naturalism, and relativism, which are seen as contrary to Catholic doctrine. Freemasonry's emphasis on human reason and natural virtue without divine grace is particularly problematic.Consistent Prohibition: The Church has maintained a consistent prohibition against Freemasonry, with various popes reiterating the ban and the reasons behind it, emphasizing that the principles of Freemasonry are irreconcilable with Catholicism.Modern Canon Law: The 1917 Code of Canon Law included Canon No. 2335, which excommunicated Catholics who joined Masonic associations. The 1983 Code of Canon Law, Canon No. 1374, broadened the scope to any association plotting against the Church, with penalties for those who promote such associations.Declaration on Masonic Associations: In 1983, the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, under Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, issued a declaration reaffirming that membership in Masonic associations remains forbidden, and those who join are in a state of grave sin and cannot receive Holy Communion.Impact of Freemasonry: Papal documents have highlighted the negative impact of Freemasonry on society, including its role in promoting secularism, undermining religious authority, and contributing to political and social unrest.Educational Efforts: The Church has emphasized the importance of educating the faithful about the dangers of Freemasonry and encouraging participation in Catholic organizations to counteract its influence.Saints' Opposition: Saints like Maximillian Kolbe actively opposed Freemasonry, founding organizations such as the Knights of the Immaculata to counter its influence and promote Catholic values.Ongoing Vigilance: The document concludes by stressing the need for ongoing vigilance and adherence to Church teachings, highlighting the enduring relevance of the Church's stance against Freemasonry in the modern world.…
