Codices Venetos descripserunt G. Kroll et A. Olivieri. Accedunt fragmenta selecta primum edita is a scholarly catalog of Greek manuscripts, specifically the Venetian codices, compiled by Gustav Kroll and Alessandro Olivieri in 1900. It belongs to the broader series Catalogus Codicum Astrologorum Graecorum, which systematically documents Greek manuscripts (codices) relevant to the history of ancient astrology, alchemy, and related sciences. The book offers detailed descriptions of the contents and provenance of the Venetian manuscripts, which are important for the study of ancient Greek science and scholarship. In addition to the catalog entries, it includes an appendix of selected fragments that are published for the first time (primus edita) , contributing new source material to classical studies. The volume is written in Latin, as was standard for philological and historical catalogues of the time. This catalog is a significant academic resource for classical philologists, historians of science, and manuscript scholars because it preserves the record of these ancient works, some of which are otherwise inaccessible or have not survived intact. The work's authority is reinforced by its association with major scholars (Kroll, Olivieri, Boll, Cumont) and its place within a foundational series for the history of Greek astrology and science. It is not a narrative book for general audiences but a reference tool used by researchers tracing the transmission and content of Greek manuscripts; 224 pages.…
