Many of the stories are set in wartime, echoing Captain W. E. Johns own experience as a First World War pilot. The first Biggles story, The Camels are Coming, was published in 1932 and Johns continued writing up until his death in 1968, having written almost one hundred Biggles novels and short-story collections. The Biggles Book of Treasure Hunting is an ex-library book and has stamps to both the front and rear free endpapers. It also contains the odd child-like ink annotation. All dust wrappers reinforced with archival bindings. Moderate loss to wrap on certain volumes, namely Biggles Learns to Fly, and closed tear to Biggles of the Interpol. Slight spotting to all wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with the exception to spotting heavier to the first and last few pages. Very Good. book.
