Milman would go on to write The Martyr of Antioch (1822), which served as the primary influence for Arthur Sullivan's (1842-1900) 'Sacred Musical Drama' of the same name, first performed in 1880. Externally lovely with only the slightest marks to the boards and very minimal edge wear. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with the odd spot, slightly heavier to the front. Owner's ink inscription to the front blank. Fine. None (illustrator). book.
