Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 8th Printing (Dec. 1918). A G 12mo hardcover missing its dust jacket. Modest condition grade because of some moisture staining in and near the the spine tail. This includes some internal staining in the gutter and bottom margin. Also has penned prior owner info on the front paste-down. The contents (366 pp.,) otherwise appear mark-free, fully legible, complete, and securely bound. Red cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering and decoration on the spine and the upper board. The book is bumped at the head and tail edges with small cuts and a touch of fraying. NOT an ex-library copy!

Binding lettering on front board is similar to photo, but the binding is red paper over boards. Rubbing at edges, else very good. In scarce dust jacket. Chipped at head and along top edge. Spine of dust jacket evenly darkened but still clear. 3/4" chip affects "M" in From on front wrap, else wraps are whole, price is not clipped.

Frontispiece and (3) internal illustrations on coated paper by F.R. Gruger and Arthur William Brown. Big league ballplayer goes to war, a take off of Ring Lardner's Jack Keefe stories. McCue p.118. The scarce dust jacket is moderatly soiled and has several tears and chips, but has not been price clipped, $1.35. The binding is very solid and interior clean. The front panel, spine, rear panel and both flaps are actually pretty nice.
