Seller: FARRAGO, HUDDERSFIELD, YORKS, United Kingdom
First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. First Edition; undated, but c mid-1940's. Slim quarto; faux-leather cream boards with dark blue panels to front and spine-these having impressed gilt titles, borders and surrounding stars. Top leading corners bumped, a couple of small dints to front and a little age-related grubbiness- nothing specific. Beautifully-illustrated enpapers in keeping with other numerous pages of drawings throughout. 96pp, profusely illustrated with artwork set amongst the text as well as a Frontis + 6 other ful-page colour plates and numerous sepia photographic reproductions of the period. It is difficult to select a limited number of images to represent this book, as it overflows with attractive designs. The colour plates were sold separately as Limited Edition lithographs. There is some age-related wear and evidence of handling, but nothing significant - contents predominantly tight, bright and clean without any additional inscriptions or annotations. Dustwrapper is unclipped (25/-), grubby and spine-faded with a number of small creases and losses, predominantly to top edge. However, the cover picture and surrounding titles are unaffected, and with the clear, removable plastic wraps it is still attractive, and now scarce with this work. FREE p&p within the U.K. Shipping abroad at standard rates, or as agreed with the purchaser.
