    Rolls Royce Aero Engine School, 28 july 1959, in-folio, collection of ca. 250 leaves with blueprints, coloured plans, explanations etc. Subject: Avon 200 series . With an extensive index . Complete overview of the construction of the engine, gas flows, lubrication, air cooling, ignition, servicing, re-heating etc.Kept in an original paper portfolio, perforated leaves and folding drawings kept together with the original metal clasps. Wrapper with slight traces of use (has been studied). Rare complete technical manual on the Avon 200 jet engine. This completely different follow-up jet engine was the succesor of the Avon 100 which was the first commercial jet engine in the Western World. It powered e.g. the ''De Haviland Comet'' which made the first trans-atlantic flight with a jet-liner. The Avon 200 engine is still in use as a highly effective industrial gas generator produced by the Siemens Company.

This was the first axial flow jet engine in the Western World. It powered e.g. the ''De Haviland Comet'' which made the first trans-atlantic flight with a jet-liner. Also used on the highly successful English Electric Canberrra.
