Hardback. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Reprint. 1933. Reprint. xxv, 179pp. and 24 black and white illustrations. Alex Morrison was a golf instructor from the 1920's to the 1950's, and was one of the first to use high-speed photographs to analyze golf swings from all possible angles. He writes in his Author's Note at the start of the book: " "This is not 'just another golf book.' The material that I present here is entirely original and describes completely for the first time the only method of playing golf that is based on the inescapable mechanical and anatomical factors that govern the execution of a successful shot. I have made the only complete analysis of the golf swing; consequently, I am able to state positively - and to prove - exactly what takes place in the process of projecting a ball in a desired flight." The book is bound in the original brown patterend canvas cloth covered boards with dark brown titling on the spine and front board. The book is in excellent condition and the contents are tight and clean with some foxing on the fore edge of the text block. On some pages the foxing has seeped a little way into the fore margin. There is no inscription. The unclipped dustwrapper has shelf wear with soiling and some staining. Pieces are missing from the corners, spine ends and top edge, and a 2" x 3/4" piece is missing from near the bottom of the rear spine edge. There are also several tears on the edges, some with surrounding creases. A previous owner has carried out repairs to the missing pieces and tears using large pieces of white paper on the reverse of the wrapper. Glue stains from the repairs are visible on the reverse and parts of the front of the wrapper.
