A small press reprinting of this Housman short novel from 1904. Tightly bound and fresh; the text appears to have been reset for this edition. 114 pgs with a 7 pg biograp…hical profile of Housman appended at rear. I find very little information about the Goodchild publishing venture. But what can be plainly said is that the proprietor curated the titles selected for reprinting and did so with a certain elan. While the material used in the binding are somewhat basic, there is an elegance of economy. The text block is glued back inside a paper wrap, over which are laid heavy paper core boards, bound over with a quarter cloth backed spine and digitally printed color pictorial paper covering the sides. Handsomely printed color pictorial dust jacket. Images in the biographical section at rear digitally reproduced. A silk bookmark inserted and held glued inside a slit to the rear pastedown. I wish I had met this Goodchild. A very nice niche reprinting, and a testament to the book lover slash publisher. VG++/VG++.
