Original silver gelatin photograph of a group of people in the mountains of Colorado. There are three men, four women and a baby. Three of the women are on horses. The Rockies loom large in the background. 7 1/4 x 6 inches, on photographer's mount with his name in a large printed script at the base of the image. Framed. Excellent.On the reverse of the photograph we find a pencil notation that this was taken on a Sunday in 1900. There is also mention of a Peak in the background but it is unclear. History has not recorded Mr. Cass as a photographer making this image scarce indeed. M. A. Cass was born in England in 1875 but imigrated to the United states at 17. He was married at Sioux Falls in 1898 and soon thereafter volunteered for service in the Spanish-American War. After returning home he settled In Eldora and Hassie Towns, near Boulder, Colorado. He was a professional photographer there from 1900 to 1915, He later abandoned photography when he moved to Plymouth, Iowa,
