One of only 50 copies printed on Shadwell and signed by the artist. "The cover is six vertical scraps of variegated Shadwell randomly zig-zagged together with the text block sewed to one end of the blank side. The cover is then folded under and around the text block with a real fishing fly affixed to the cover. . . . Needless to say this is/was a bibliographer's nightmare about which many letters were received." Hamady 63. Printers' Choice, 68. In our experience, the rarest publication of the Perishable Press.

Condition: Fine. First Edition. Oblong 12mo with sewn insert that extends past the width of the book; marbled wrappers. Copy number two of 76 press-numbered copies, all signed by Rothenberg. The "small gift" is a paper sculpture by Jody Shields that is sewn into the center. A quirky and appealing book, this copy was one of Rothenberg's own and is accompanied by a dummy of the book contining the text and paper sculpture but without colophon or wrappers.
