Soon afterwards, he erected the "Tabernacle of David" where he housed the Ark of the Covenant of the God of Israel. So, Zion became the dwelling place of God. That was historical Zion in the past. The prophet Amos in his ninth chapter foretold of the re-building again of the tabernacle of David, which was fallen down, within the context of the house of Jacob. Our calling is to this spiritual Zion into which we have all come, according to Paul in his letter to the Hebrews. The present will eventually morph into the Eternal Zion, the heavenly New Jerusalem. That will be the eternal tabernacle of God where He dwells with mankind for ever. Living by faith in holiness and fear of the Lord as disciples who are manifesting the glory of Christ's Ekklesia is prerequisite for the Church to possess her possessions.
