Originalleinen. Condition: Sehr gut. 30 S. mit Abb. Sehr gutes Ex. - this new body of work by Catherine Yass on the occasion of the roth Indian Triennale. Catherine Yass is one of the foremost artists of her generation, and the six portraits which make up the series Star were specially commissioned by the British Council for this event. Yass's portraiture has always projected beyond the individual to examine the institutional structure which frames them and this is no less the case with Star. The actors presented are professional image-makers, whose business it is to portray the fantasies and desires of us all. In four of the six portraits the actors are on the set of the films they were making in November 2000 when the artist made her visit to Mumbai, stilled for a brief moment in the course of a day's work. We inevitably ask ourselves, as we look at them "are they still in role? or perhaps at some indeterminate point between the assumed role and the real self?". Is it possible to distinguish between the icon and the person? (Vorwort) ISBN 0863554709 Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 550.…
