Read mire about : gossip, fearful symmetry, Wraithby, demons, sleeping-car, cardboard butterfly, OBE, treason, Non- Conforming Man, and Torquemada. Illustrated with colour drawings by Mansbridge. . Cond : Boards are grey wirth gilt lettering at spine. White end-papers. D.J. features a drawing of a big crowd by Noman Mansbridge. Volume is tight, bright, square and clean. no names nor marks. D.J. has two small tears. Excellent reading copy. QUote (p. 156) : " A portrait of Kipling, as I see it, should be in the medieval style, with a white angel perched on one shoulder and a black devil on the other. The white angel signifies the imagination, out of which come truth and love and laughter; the black devil signifies the will, out of which come ._._._. . " Size: Octavo.
