Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is an extract from the play The Midwife. Set in present-day Milan, Italy, the book focuses on the life of Felicita, a widowed mother of two. Felicita is a wet nurse who rents out a room in her apartment to a struggling young couple, Teresa and Peppin, who have recently lost their infant son. Their grief and attempts to cope with the loss form the core of the play, which is characterized by its realistic portrayal of working-class life in the late 19th century. The play delves into themes of love, loss, and the struggles of the working class through the relationships between the three main characters. Ultimately, it explores the human capacity for resilience and the power of human connection in the face of adversity. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
